COMING EVENTS

North East Florida

Senior Golf Association

March and April 2015

We’re approaching the new year with renewed interest and anticipation for another good year with NEFSGA.

Again, our Vice Presidents have worked hard to get us some great courses for 2015. In order to save both travel time and gasoline, we have attempted to keep our events more centralized. Hopefully, this will increase attendance at all our events.

We appreciate all that you do in recruiting new members to strengthen our organization and they will be warmly welcomed!!

Please email or call Harry on Tuesday or Wednesday prior to play date if you have any special pairing requests or wish to add a guest. Harry will always try to accommodate our members. We can usually accommodate guests and we will need their full name, approximate handicap and check for $50.00.

                              IMPORTANT NOTICE

In order to make things run smoothly at each tournament, please arrive at the course and pick up your scorecard at least 30 minutes before shotgun is scheduled to start.

Our scorers all do a good job and it is much appreciated. If you would be occasionally interested in helping out as a scorer please let me know.

ALSO IF YOU CAN'T BE AT A TOURNAMENT BECAUSE YOU ARE SICK PLEASE CALL HARRY THE NIGHT BEFORE TOURNAMENT SO HE CAN POSSIBLE GET SOMEONE ELSE TO FILL IN AND YOU WON'T LOSE YOUR MONEY.
UNLESS IT CAN'T BE HELP DON'T WAIT TILL THE MORNING OF THE TOURNAMENT IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE HARRY KNOWS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. ALSO IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL A TOURNAMENT PLEASE WRITE IT ON A NOTE AND GIVE IT TO HARRY DON'T JUST WALK UP AND TELL HIM WHEN WE ARE BUSY.
ALSO IF YOU CALL AND REQUEST TO BE PUT IN A TOURNAMENT AND SAY YOU WILL BRING YOUR CHECK TO TOURNAMENT AND YOU DON'T SHOW UP YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THAT TOURNAMENT THE NEXT TIME YOU PLAY.

WE  REQUEST THAT ALL GOLFERS BE AT GOLF COURSE AND CHECKED IN A HALF HOUR BEFORE TEE OFF TIME. THIS WILL MAKE IT EASIER FOR THE PEOPLE WORKING THE CHECK IN TO GET THINGS WRAPPED UP AND IF ANY CHANGES NEED TO BE MADE WILL NOT HOLD UP OUR TEE OFF TIME. IF TEE TIME IS 9 AM BE THERE BY 8:30 AM AND CHECKED IN.
THANK.
COME ON OUT!!  We'll be happy to see you.

Welcome to our new look

A Friendly Reminder

We should all be playing by the same rules. That means...

YOU MUST PUTT EVERYTHING OUT!!!

It is not fair if we have the majority of the field putting everything out and some foursomes deciding to give each other short putts.

NO ONE IS AUTHORIZED TO GIVE PUTTS, TO ANYONE!!!

We play low gross and low net and one short missed putt could make the difference, so please let’s not have anyone deciding to give themselves or their partners a short putt.

Thanks for your cooperation.

NEFSGA HANDICAPS
Some of our members were curious about how the handicaps for
NEFSGA are figured. For new members we use 1 out of 3 scores then 2
out of 4 until they accumulate five rounds. Then we use your best 3
scores out of the last five rounds played with NEFSGA. Mathematically
these 3 scores are totaled and divided until we come up with a
handicap. Adjustments for course ratings and slopes are used in the
formula. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you feel there could be an
obvious error in your handicap and we will be happy to check it out.
Adjustments have to be made to handicaps sometimes, for instance
when a member is competing with other players who are all playing
from different tees.

Remember
.triple bogey is maximum
